I've been watching the Penny Arcade TV seasons. It's fresh on my mind

The word "hockey" makes me think of people wrestling on ice. I know there's more to it than that, but... that would be my only reason for watching it.

And football? Guys piled up on top of each other because one of them was tackled... so pointless.

Baseball, on the other hand... I can see the logic in baseball. I can even watch it without becoming bored out of my mind.

Really? I can't stand baseball. Not nearly enough violence. I suppose curling would be my baseball. I love watching curling. It's fun to play, but there's nowhere within probably 1500 miles to play...

Football is neat because it's a genuine team sport; everyone has to play their position and pull their weight or the team falls apart.

I love hockey because I grew up watching and playing it, and have always admired the speed, coordination, and grace that goes into playing an organised sport on a sheet of ice

I was raised on Football, I know all the little intricacies of it and my family would often debate whether a ref made the correct call or not while we watch it. It was our family time, and seeing my mother freak out over a play was one of the best parts of my childhood. Other sports I don't get so much. My family didn't do other sports at all, so a lot of it is a mystery to me. I'm starting to learn about Hockey now (one of the side effects of marrying a canadian) and it's fun to watch, but I always miss the fights

Football is the best spectator sport. Enough scoring that the game is interesting, but not so much that it is pointless. Every score is still important. Enough violence to satisfy most, and a lot of strategy, and fineness to satisfy most. Football is the most balanced.

In soccer the guys run for nearly ninety minutes straight in football they run for thirty seconds and get whistled at. then you have to sit through for hours to find out the eagle lost again.

I enjoy watching Rugby. There are a lot of Tongans and Samoans where I live, and they like to play it a lot. I'll also go to the occasional baseball game. Bit of a shame we don't have an MLB team here. I remember going to see the Arizona Diamondbacks during their first season, back when I lived in Phoenix. That was a lot of fun.

Overall, I think I much prefer to see sports live, or better yet, actually play them. They tend to bore me whenever I see them on television.

I *should* go see the Red Sox at some point. I'm not that far from Fenway... I just need a buddy to go with me (and the cash for the ticket!).

I agree live sports are the best.

We have no pro sports here anywhere close to here, 'cept the Portland Trailblazers. And I kinda hate them. I've been to a few of their games though.

Mostly, pro sports are just too expensive.
