I disagree about the Bioware part. It was an excellent emotional event. I could tell he was going to die anyways, but I felt that having the support of the Salarians was worth more in the big picture. It's also why I picked the Geth over Tali. I felt pretty bad about that one too, but it just kind of seemed over-dramatic. The whole part where Shepherd throws away his pistol in disgust after shooting Mordin...that perfectly echoed how I was feeling at that exact moment.
