Nik, just out of curiosity, what difficulty level did you play The Last of Us on, and did you approach most scenarios stealthily or through open combat? It's interesting to here a more critical opinion on the game.

Mojo and Dadinator, I'm glad I was able to accidentally suggest such an awesome game. The more I've played it, the better it seems to get. What race/combat role are you all playing as? I'm playing as one of the elf-types (I forgot their names), and I've been pouring most of my skill points into Might and Sorcery. If you haven't tried them yet, the Chakrams are stupidly fun to fight with.

@Stavie: it is awesome. And it does keep getting better. I'm like almost twenty hours in, and I am loving it.

I'm playing as a human, and I've been putting everything into Sorcery and Finesse. I'm currently level 13, and my "destiny" is Seer (Sorcery tier 3). I haven't tried the chakrams yet; been using a staff and Faeblades.

I haven't played it in like a week and a half because I was out of town, so I don't recall what level my character is, nor their current destiny. I think it's Guardian or something like that. And the Chakrams are basically these awesome magic fueled spiky rings that you throw at people like round boomerangs of death.

I did play a ton of 3DS while I was in Cali though. Mostly Animal Crossing and Shin Megami Tensei IV.

Ah, cool. Yeah, I saw how the Chakrams are used, I just put points into other items, so I don't have any "moves" unlocked for Chakrams yet... I just am loving this game. The combat is so much fun, and the setting is so cool. And I love the story, and especially all the side-quests. So far, the highlight of the game for me was the opening, and the House Of Ballads side-quest.

It is quite pretty. I love how vibrant the world is with so many rich colors. And I loved the House of Ballads! It's such a cool take on the traditional Bard's role in fantasy. I've only completed the first section of that quest line though.

Yeah, I'm only on mission three of the main quest. Almost twenty hours in, and I've only completed two of the main quests... The sidequests are so much fun, and there's so many... This game is just awesome... My one complaint is the dialogue. So redundant. Every person you talk to says basically the same thing.

Stavie: I'm a content tourist. Generally the highest difficulty setting I'll ever play games on is Normal. I like to see what games have to offer; looting all the chests, finding all the easter eggs, etc.

I played Last of Us on Easy. I attempted stealth as much as possible, but even on Easy the game is determined to make that rather difficult. Often just simple things like enemies magically turning around the instant I attempt a stealth kill, or reinforcements running into a room and instantly knowing exactly where I'm hiding. Once I upgraded the hunting rifle's scope and power, I could one-shot pretty much any enemy. Ammunition is scarce, but with the fact that the game rarely throws more than 5 enemies at you at a time (and a little help from auto-targeting) it wasn't that big of a deal. Now that I've finished my play through I may venture back to the game and attempt it at a higher difficulty, especially given that I know how to beat the boss fights. Not sure when I'll get around to it though...Payday 2 comes out pretty soon here. Gonna knock me over some banks
