I finally decided to spend money on myself and bought Avadon 2: The Corruption. So far, so good. I'm not seeing as many buttons for secret passages as there were in the first one... or maybe he's gotten really good at hiding them. And, as usual, I did not get the hint book. I'm moving through it slowly, though, as I love exploring each area as thoroughly as possible before moving on. You can imagine how annoyed I get when I have to rush through an area......

Mildly off-topic: I wish he'd remake the 2nd and 3rd Avernum games... Especially the 3rd. It was awesome... and it can't be played on newer computers... :'( The reason I mention this is that those two games had very strong exploration....

The old, old games cannot. He's been writing games for decades, but he hasn't updated all of them. Computers have come far over the past few years. However, considering that he re-released Avernum –– the first of that series, and the 4-6 volumes of that series are up to date, I think it's only a matter of time before he updates 2 and 3. However, he's been working on Avadon, so it's slow progress... not that I'm complaining. I just miss the oldest of his games (some of which only ran on Classic [Mac OS 9 and earlier...])... At least Nethergate still works.... lol. And all the Geneforge games...
