I have to admit... at first I was hesitant to get into The Hunger Games because of Katniss eating wild dogs and squirrels, because I am an animal person and there are many animals that I disagree about becoming food. I know it's about survival, and it was all she had, but it was a while before I got into it again. I put it down and then just reminded myself that it was fiction and there were plenty of other good parts in there for me to focus on.

She does... but in truth, she has to, because... survival. Mind you, we also eat a lot of critters, but it's not the norm to kill it yourself –– unless you are a farmer, a hunter, or... I don't know.

See, the thing is: I don't mind eating hoofed animals, you know like the usual steak or pork chop, but I do mind eating animals with paws since I love the furry fandom which is liking animals with paws. I know that sounds lukewarm, yet it's that's the way it's always been for me.

I would like to know how to hunt, even though it's not currently "necessary" to stay alive. Not knowing what the future may hold causes me to think it a vital skill...
