You could throw Chuck Norris into the martial arts genre, but I'd put him in action.

New True Grit was okay, not great. I've heard Tombstone is good. As for modern westerns go, Appaloosa starring Vigo Mortensen and Ed Harris is fantastic!

See Casablanca; you will not regret it.

Yeah, Ten Commandments is a pretty entertaining movie.

About the only of the classic thriller's I've seen is Rear Window, which was absolutely terrific! I saw it cause I heard that Disturbia was kind of a modern remake of it.

There're so many great war classics. Many starring either Eastwood, or John Wayne. The Great Escape starring James Garner and Steve McQueen.

I know I am chiming in late but: I have to agree, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty is awesome !!!

Apocalypse Now is really, really, really slow. It's similar to Spec Ops in the sense that it's about a team sent out to deal with a lost Colonel. That's about where the similarity ends, though.

Kelly's Heroes is probably my favourite tank movie ever, even though it's not about tanks. Donald Sutherland exemplifies tankers as we want to be seen: unruly and in disciplined so we're left alone, but consummate professionals, experts at our craft.

@Never seen Kelly's Heroes? It's so good. Eastwood is so great and as Nik already mentioned Donald Sutherland is also terrific.
