There are a lot of rumors flying around about what is going to be in the next gen consoles.
So come here and talk about what you think will happen.

Better graphics, and quicker load times. I don't think anything "revolutionary" is on the immediate horizon.

Someone told me that game buying will be done completely digitally and used games will be a thing of the past. I'm skeptical to say the least, but it is a possibility.

DRM and lack of used software is already a normal thing with platforms like Steam and the iOS and Android market places. I think as dedicated consoles move forward, it's only a matter of time until used games/physical media disappear entirely. Hopefully we'll see what Sony has in mind as far as DRM on their next console is concerned next week.

I agree. I doubt there will be any purely digital media based consoles for at least another generation of hardware (unless Sony or Microsoft decide to release separate SKUs including one that doesn't include a disk drive). It will happed eventually though. High speed internet just needs to spread more before it can be a viable market solution.

Did anyone else catch any of the Playstation 4 news that hit Wednesday?

I'm really excited by a number of the network features they announced for the new system. In particular, the ability to play games as you download them, as well as the ability to download them while the console is powered down sound fantastic. I'm also really interested in all the Gaikai powered game streaming that will be available. I kind of wish I had held onto my PS Vita now.

Also a new InFamous game!

I can't wait to see what Sony announces at E3. It'll be interesting to see what Microsoft will do now that they have the benefit of knowing what Sony's plans are as well. I wonder when they'll announce the next-box? Surely it will have to be before GDC, as I imagine many of the developers will want to be able to talk about the projects they're working on for the new systems.

Watch Dogs looks just awesome.

So who heard about the Xbox one. After seeing it I think that the PS4 looks better.

I used to be a pretty hardcore Xbox fanboy...but I don't think I'll be getting an XbOne. It kinda breaks my heart a little, but the bad outweighs the good far too much.
