Philomena by Martin Sixsmith

It's about the child smuggling that happened in Ireland. In the 1950's many women pregnant out of wedlock were sent to convents to have the baby and then the babies were adopted out to foreigners, often against the mothers wishes. This is a book about a mother that goes searching for her child many years later.
