To Read Lists...

My piles of books to read are getting so high, I might have to rent climbing gear. Okay, so that might be an exaggeration, but... There's a lot.
In no particular order:

Tolkien's "Silmarillion"
The Hunger Games series
The Game of Thrones (one of these days)
the 3rd and 4th books in the City of Ember series
A bunch of books from my pastor
the rest of that history of Ireland book
Chaucer's Complete Works
Angela's Ashes (still haven't finished it... probably have to restart)

And I know there's more, but I can't think of them at the moment.......

My list:
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by JK Rowling (I'm on chapter eleven and I can tell it's not going to be as good as the previous four, but I'm still diving in to see what happens to the characters.) I think I'm going to skip buying books five through seven and just keep books one through four, when the storyline wasn't as dark and had more enjoyable moments, IMO.

The Red Pyramid (the first book in the Kane Chronicles) by Rick Riordan (My aunt is letting me borrow this book. I like how Rick combines Egyptian fantasy with a modern touch.)

Interestingly, I had started one other fantasy book series from the library in the past, but for some reason lost interest in ever finishing it. I never picked it up again after I finished chapter five. I guess it was maybe because the characters were never three dimensional or interesting. Which is saying a lot because in most fantasy books characters can be more relatable than any other reading genre I've read in the past.

I think we have the exact opposite opinions on HP. I was bored silly up until GOF at which point I thought they were ok. OOTP was my favorite. Mainly because I had my own personal Umbridge when I was in high school. She absolutely terrorized my life for like...three years.

I am making progress! I finished the books of Ember, as well as the Brides of Alba series by Linda Windsor, and I've jumped into reading the Hunger Games... I suppose I ought to update my list:

My immediate to-read books currently looks like Hobbit and LOTR. Then maybe Hood by Stephen Lawhead... I've tried to read two Lawhead books so far, and I couldn't get very far in either. Though the premises were strong, he took too long to develop the stories. I don't want to trudge through 100 or more pages of boring before the story actually begins. Hopefully because Hood is YA, it will be faster paced.
