Civilization series

I haven't played these games in ages, but I love them. Civ. III was my favourite, but because technology and software change... I cannot play it anymore...

Any favourite tactics, maps, enemies, whatever? Ever use the cheat mode (I will confess: I did... more often than I should have...)?

I played Civ III. Loved that game! I bet it would run on my laptop, assuming I could find the disk for it...

I loved building walls around every village/town/city... I don't remember using cheats for it, which is surprising, cause I used to always use cheats.

I think Civ III was one of the first computer games I played that wasn't exclusively educational. I never cheated and I played it a lot. I eventually got civ IV but I think I still like three more.

Yes it was more complicated but I didn't play it as long as I played III

I might've pulled a couple of all-nighters with Civ III... I can't remember.

I always made sure I shared scientific discoveries with my allies... so long as I kept them *just* behind where I was at...

I would go to war, take a few cities then offer peace give them science and money for more cities.

I won a lot of times with that strategy. (When I didn't get into debt)

Very hard but when I had my debt under control I dominated.

I never cheated. (I didn't know I could)

Oh, it's easy... You go into one of the menus at the top and select "Cheat Mode." Then you can do all kinds of things –– add to your gold, make sudden scientific discoveries, buy units/city improvements, steal units/cities, etc. Or take away from the computer players....
